It's part of the modern game. Football is a results business and managers are swiftly sacked if scores aren't up to scratch.
The 56 managerial dismissals this season was the highest amount ever in the top four leagues - three more sackings than in the 2001-02 campaign.
Jose Mourinho, Louis van Gaal and Brendan Rodgers were all relieved of their duties as Premier League club's sought a change in fortunes.

Louis van Gaal was sacked as manager of Manchester United this week despite lifting the FA Cup

Brendan Rodgers, now in charge of Celtic, was sacked by Liverpool in October and replaced by Jurgen Klopp

Jose Mourinho was sacked by Chelsea in December - it was one of 56 dismissals this season
 In total, there were 70 manager switches with 14 bosses resigning from their roles.

The Championship saw the largest number of sacking with 18 managers given their marching orders.
