Lively opening round!

Good start to the fight, but Wilson might have to start coming forward a little more.
Da Silva’s clinch work was excellent and the knees to the body could play a big part if Wilson doesn’t start defending himself more.

. Jonathan Wilson vs Henrique da Silva is next!

Jonathan Wilson is up next vs Henrique da Silva

The undefeated Brazilian boasts a record of 10-0 in his professional MMA career. The American, also unbeaten, has seven wins to his name.

Wilson predicted this one would go the distance!

We’re about to find out

We have a majority draw!

29-28, 28-29, 28-28 - majority draw!

To be fair, Casey was massively outstruck in the second and obviously his top control wasn’t enough for all the judges to give him the round, and he offered nothing in the final round.
Fair play to Casey, though. Losing his father-in-law, a certain Muhammad Ali, and then stepping into the Octagon so soon after deserves credit.
This was pretty close to being stopped. Lucky boy, Mr Casey.

They go the distance!

The fight petered out somewhat as Casey looked to run the clock down. The round was halted for an eye poke from Casey, which certainly worked in his favour as he was tiring and offering very little. Fortunately for him, Mutapcic didn’t offer enough in the round - which he won - to stop the fight.
Elvis did apply some good ground and pound right at the death but he was about 15 seconds short of time.
Decision to come!

Casey in control

It’d be nice to see Casey focus a little more on his striking; when he’s going for it he looks frightening.
But his takedowns are like watching a nature documentary. He almost completed one but Mutapcic scrambled up like he was fearing for his life, like Conor McGregor’s fabled gazelle.
Unfortunately for Mutapcic he was only upright for a few seconds before Casey took him down properly and ended in mount.
More decent ground and pound but Mutapcic brilliantly worked his way back to his feet.
He’s not out of the fight, but he is two rounds down.

Casey takes the first

Mission accomplished as far as Kevin Casey is concerned: Not taking any big shots and landing the only takedown he attempted.
Mutapcic trying to protect himself but Casey’s ground and pound will surely be taking its toll following a lot of punches to Mutapcic’s body.
Not especially showy after the takedown, but textbook stuff from Casey so far.

Kevin Casey vs Elvis Mutapcic is next!

Reyes said he was expecting a tough fight but he didn’t think it it’d be such a war. Crazy start to the night. If we see a better fight tonight we’ll be in for a real treat.
Next up is Kevin Casey, coming into this on the back of a TKO loss to Rafael Natal in January, against Elvis Mutapcic, also coming in on the back of a loss in January.

23;42

And it is all over!

Finally, enough is enough and Polo Reyes wins by knockout!
A glancing left followed by a short, stinging right and Kim was down and out. He took another on the way down, just to make sure. Incredible fight.

23;39

All-out war!

What a fight. The pace slowed down, particularly towards the end of the round when both guys looked totally spent, but they are giving their absolute all.
It was a closer round, too. Kim ate a lot of big shots again but he landed more of his own. I’d be tempted to give him that one.
Not sure the judges will come into this one, though. These two are exhausted. At one point Kim just fell into a takedown and Reyes offered little resistance.
Who wants it more?

23;31

What a start!

What a fantastic round that was. Both men throwing with reckless abandon - reminiscent of Travis Browne and Andrei Arlovski’s one-round war.
Both Kim and Reyes landed huge shots but El Toro certainly took the round, and it’s not often you can say that of a man who was as wobbly as he was.
But Kim kept coming forward and was picked off time and time again. How he was knocked down just once is a mystery. Tremendous chin on the Korean.

23;28

And we are underway!

So, first up is Marco Polo Reyes vs Dong Hyun Kim in the first of four Fight Pass prelims.
Reyes’s six professional wins have all come by knockout.
Kim, meanwhile lost on his UFC debut to Dominique Steele.
Here we go!

Welcome

Good evening fight fans and welcome to our live coverage of UFC 199 from Los Angeles.
All attention turns towards Los Angeles tonight as Michael Bisping challenges for the middleweight title with the chance to become the first-ever British UFC champion.
Until just last week, the main event tonight was scheduled to be champion Luke Rockhold against Chris Weidman, the man he beat at UFC 194.
Weidman, however, announced last week that he was out of the fight having picked up a neck injury during his training camp.
After 24 hours of speculation, Brit Bisping was confirmed as Weidman’s replacement.
We will have all the latest from Stateside, including a packed undercard, throughout the night so keep it here.
