Phil Mickelson shot a five-under-par 65 to move into contention at the St Jude Classic at TPC Southwind on Friday.
The 45-year-old American, looking for his first tournament win since The Openat Muirfield in 2013, is four shots off clubhouse leader Daniel Berger.
Mickelson finished his round sitting tied second with fellow Americans Dustin Johnson and Brooks Koepka.
Wales' Jamie Donaldson was one shot off the lead heading into the second round, but dropped four strokes on Friday.
