With midfielder Denis Suarez reaching an agreement to return to Barcelona, the Spanish champions will now turn their attention to strengthening their defence.

Dani Alves and Marc Bartra have already left this summer, and Adriano (rumoured to be headed to Lazio), Douglas (looking for first-team chances) and Thomas Vermaelen (wants to return to the Premier League) may all follow them out of Catalunya.

Javier Mascherano has also been mentioned in transfer rumours, while Aleix Vidal has disappointed since moving from Sevilla last summer.

That leaves only Pique, Jordi Alba and Jeremy Mathieu as certainties, and coach Luis Enrique will be keen to bolster his back line.
.
Here are some of the names that technical secretary Roberto Fernandez is thought to be considering:

Samuel Umtiti:
The Frenchman has played as both a centre-back and as a left-back for Lyon.
At just 22-years old he is already a technically gifted player, and he was recently called up to the France Euro 2016 squad to replace the injured Mathieu.

Lyon will be reluctant to part with Umtiti given that they will play Champions League football next season, but he could be had for a fee in the area of 25 million euros.

Marquinhos:
The Brazilian has long been on the Blaugrana's wish list, and with the 22-year-old in the shadow of countrymen Thiago Silva and David Luiz at PSG, he reportedly wants to leave Paris.
But the French champions are not a club that usually sells their key players, and it could take 40 million euros for Barcelona to sign the tall, fast and aggressive defender.

Cesar Azpilicueta:

The Spanish international wants to leave Chelsea and return to La Liga, and the Catalans would surely be interested in the versatile, experienced full-back.
According to the Telegraph, the two sides have been in contact, but Athletic Club are also after his services.

Mauricio Lemos:
The young Uruguayan is highly rated, but has limited first-team experience.
He joined Russian club Rubin Kazan on loan last summer before moving on to Las Palmas in January, but started just 12 total matches.

The Blaugrana are interested, but Los Amarillos president Miguel Angel Ramirez said that a first bid "was very far" from Lemos' release clause, which is set at 30m euros.
Sidnei:
The Brazilian's name first emerged when the transfer window opened.
Sidnei will leave Deportivo La Coruna, and multiple sources have said that he is close to signing with the Catalan club.
Jonny:
Rumours have leaked from Celta Vigo that the full-back is interested in reuniting with Enrique.

Barcelona have not yet shown any interest in making that happen, and with a release clause of 12m euros, it is unlikely that the Galician will join the Spanish champions.
