Fitness Model Caitlyn Bellamy

How did you get started in bodybuilding/fitness?

I have always been athletic, I played volleyball, basketball, ran cross country and did Tae Kwon Do when I was a kid but as I got into my later teens I became more interested in hanging out with my friends then being active. When I met my husband in my early 20’s he introduced me to the gym and I have been hooked ever since.

What is your favorite and least favorite body parts to train?

I am glute obsessed, mostly because I was a skinny girl with a flat pancake butt and I have been on a mission to change that. I LOVE training legs/glutes and usually work them 2-3 times a week. I absolutely hate training my arms, mostly because I find the workouts boring.
Caitlyn Bellamy

Do you do any other types of training besides weight training? (Boxing, MMA, CrossFit, ect)

I really enjoy kickboxing/boxing for conditioning, it’s always a great workout and never gets easier. I also recently started taking yoga, it’s improved my flexibility and helped with some ongoing back issues I have.

What does your diet look like when you are trying to get lean?

I stay fairly lean year round so my diet doesn’t change much when I am trying to lose a few pounds. I eat whole foods 5-6 times a day and drink 3-4 liters of water. If I really want to tighten up I cut back on my peanut butter consumption, I’m a bit of an addict.

Man City and Arsenal stars SNUBBED by UEFA in Champions League squad of the season

UEFA have failed to name a single Premier League player in their Champions League squad of the season.

Several Manchester City stars, such as Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero, may have reason to be disappointed for not making it on to UEFA’s list after making it to the semi-finals of the competition.

Chelsea’s Willian may also be miffed after his tremendous efforts to get the Blues to the quarter-finals.

Meanwhile Barcelona’s Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi, and Andres Iniesta as well as PSG’s Thiago Silva have made it in despite their teams only getting to the quarter-finals.

NBA player's shooting death may have been simple mistake>>>

SPORT DADDY NEWS NBA

DALLAS - The shooting death of an NBA player in Dallas has those who knew him best struggling to make sense of it.
New Orleans Pelican player Bryce Dejean-Jones, 23, died after breaking into a Dallas apartment and being shot.
Many of the people who live at the Camden Belmont apartments had no idea what had happened overnight until they received an email from the apartment complex management saying that a man had broken into an apartment by mistake, reports CBS Dallas.
A wrist injury ended Bryce Dejean-Jones' rookie season early with the New Orleans Pelicans. But as he made his way to Dallas for his baby daughter's first birthday, his agent tells us his future was looking bright.
A wrist injury ended Bryce Dejean-Jones' rookie season early with the New Orleans Pelicans. According to his agent Scott Nichols, Dejean-Jones was in Dallas for his baby daughter's first birthday.
"He was going... you know it's a long Memorial Day weekend. He was going to go to her birthday, and then he was coming back literally on Monday, and he just finished rehabbing his wrist, and he was going to start back basketball training on Tuesday," said Nichols.
Nichols said this was Dejean-Jones' first trip to see his girlfriend's new Dallas apartment, and after a brief argument he returned to the wrong floor of the building.
"I don't know exactly what was said. It could have been just like a normal argument of any couple, but I think maybe that was the reason why he was walking around. Cool some air off. She went in the apartment first, and he was looking... I don't think he was breaking in as far as... I think he was frustrated he couldn't get in the apartment. He didn't have the keys," said Nichols.
Police say the man who lives in the third floor apartment called out to the man breaking in, but when he didn't hear an answer, he fired his gun.
"He didn't know his way around. Literally the apartment he went to was the one right under her, and he was banging, he knocked on the door, and then he started banging on the door thinking maybe she locked him out," said Nichols.
Dallas Police said there's nothing to indicate Dejean-Jones was armed or knew the man who shot him. That's why his agent believes this was simply a case of confusing which apartment was his girlfriend's and ending up at the wrong place at the wrong time.

UFC Fight Night 88: Sterling talks Fight Pass and Bryan Caraway>>>

UFC Number 4 bantamweight contender, Aljamain Sterling discusses why Bryan Caraway is a tougher out than fans and pundits give him credit for.

SPORT DADDY NEWS UFC

In  just a few short hours, the Fight Pass prelims for UFC Fight Night 88 will kick off and with it, a tremendous card with a plethora of great fights. The lighter weight classes have really started filling out, especially at bantamweight, and the depth of the division, while not quite as dense as lightweight, still boasts some really talented athletes looking to make their mark on the sport.
Among this group of fighters is Long Island native and Number 4 contender, Aljamain Sterling. Sterling has been showcasing his badassery in the Octagon for a little over two years, winning all four of his fights, all by finish. As a matter of fact, Aljamain has won all of his 13 professional fights, and only four of them has gone the distance. His improvement is visible in every fight, and his dynamic style, both in and out of the cage, has gained him a very loyal fanbase.
Aljamain will meet his nemesis, Bryan Caraway, on the Fight Pass portion of the card. Their battle will be the featured bout. Now you may be saying to yourself, ‘Self, why are the Number 4 and Number 8 guys not headlining this card?’ That’s a great question, and it’s one that “The Funkmaster” believes he knows the answer to.
In a recent interview with the Three Amigos Podcast, Sterling discussed his thoughts on Fight Pass and why he feels that Caraway will be a tougher fight than some fans and pundits are giving him credit for. Here’s what he had to say:
“The one thing I can definitely appreciate [about Caraway] is his grappling abilities. The other thing would be his toughness, in terms of being able to take a shot and either still come forward or still stay in the fight and hang in there, so I give him credit and props on those things.
I actually think we’re mirror images of each other, but I just think I do everything a little bit better, in my opinion. I know this is a tough fight against a guy who has never been finished, not just in the UFC. I don’t think he’s ever been finished in any of his pro fights.

This is definitely a tough fight. He’s been in there with the best of the best and has beaten a former WEC champion in Eddie Wineland. He was toe to toe with Raphael Assuncao. Most of his fights he’s won have been finishes, so I know I have a tough task ahead of me. I just think I’m a little bit craftier in the grappling department and I think my wrestling is a little better than his. It’s going to be a battle of wills and I think I just want it more than he does.”
Fight Pass has been making great strides to beef up their content and improve their services. They’ve picked up several regional promotions and have lots of live fight cards, as well as an excellent library of combat action. It’s no surprise that they’d want to start featuring more and more important fights, having “featured bouts” that serve as mini headliners. It’s a smart move, providing big fights on this portion of the card, and after some reflection, Sterling has recognized that.
“I feel great about it [being on the Fight Pass prelims]. After they broke down everything to me, the plan and the things that they want to do with the platform, it just made sense. When you assess the key demographic target that they’re trying to appeal to, you can see that better platform to tailor to their needs is Fight Pass. I’m excited to be a part of it.
The one thing I’d like to see, and I spoke to Eric Winter [Senior VP & GM of Fight Pass] about this, if there’s a way that they can incorporate bar owners being able to display the Fight Pass prelims at the bars and restaurants. That would be a huge thing. Now that MMA has become legalized in NY, I can get a fight right before the big NY card, and get people familiarized with my face, especially being the hometown kid, and I’d be able to maybe pick up a few outside sponsors from around the way. That was my whole thinking behind that. And you know what? If I’m going to get the same media attention being the featured bout on the prelims as I would if I were on the main card portion, it works out as a win-win for me. Either way, people all over the world are going to be able to watch me, so I’m very excited about it.”
There were several topics discussed in this excellent interview that included:
· Caraway’s lack of PR efforts for this fight
· If he feels that having Meisha corner Caraway is detrimental
· Dominick Cruz discussion
· How he sees Cruz’ fight with Faber going
· Floyd Mayweather discussion
· Plans to get on the MSG card
· What his mood is like during Fight Week and if he needs to get himself fired up emotionally to do his best work
· His predictions for his own fight and the main event [Garbrandt/Almeida]

Andy Murray reaches French Open quarter-finals with win over John Isner>>>

Andy Murray
SPORT DADDY NEWS TENNIS

Britain's Andy Murray beat American John Isner in straight sets to reach the quarter-finals of the French Open.
The world number two saved three set points in a 16-minute first-set tie-break and was leading 7-6 (11-9) 2-1 when play was stopped because of rain.
Murray, 29, outclassed 15th seed Isner after the break to seal a 7-6 (11-9) 6-4 6-3 win in two hours and 40 minutes.
The Scot faces France's ninth seed Richard Gasquet, who beat fifth seed Kei Nishikori, in the last eight.
Murray, who needed five sets to win his first two matches in France, followed up his emphatic third-round win over Ivo Karlovic with another solid display against a big-serving opponent.
The Briton also held his own serve throughout - saving five break points, including three with aces - and finished the match with another ace to maintain his 100% record against Isner.
A key moment came in the first set tie-break when Murray saved a set point on Isner's serve by firing a backhand down the line past the advancing American.
Murray saved two more before taking the first set and never looked back as he secured his place in the last eight.
With more rain expected he will be pleased to have finished the match on Sunday to ensure he has a day off on Monday.
"It was a very important tie-break to win. I got lucky on his first set point when I guessed right on a short forehand," said Murray, who has reached the quarter-finals at 19 of the last 20 Grand Slam events he has contested.
"I managed to save more set points and it was a bit more comfortable after that."
On the effect of the hour-long rain delay, he added: "It is not easy when you're playing and you get stopped at fairly important moments because of the weather. You can't control it and it's easy to get frustrated.
"When you're on court you have to try and fight for every single point. But it affects the way the court plays and how you have to play."

Analysis

 Tennis correspondent Russell Fuller
"Just as he did in last year's Davis Cup clash in Glasgow, Isner threw everything at Murray in the first set, and still came out on the losing side. A gripping tie-break was decided by Isner's forehand error, but only after the American had fought back from 5-2 down and chalked out three set points.
"Murray drove Isner to distraction with the drop shot, which he often reached, but could rarely return in court. And when the world number two was under pressure, his intensity never wavered - and his serve remained rock solid. Murray has not been broken in either of the last two rounds, and he looks once again to be a very difficult man to beat.
"The rain clouds were in more benign mood than forecast, but may not be so on Monday, when to Murray's relief he won't be one of those worrying about the latest radar picture."

How to Build a Foam Rolling Routine For Your Needs>>>>

Foam rolling is gaining more and more popularity among the weightlifting, powerlifting, and bodybuilding crowds. It’s also an extremely useful tool for anyone with mobility issues or pain in specific parts of the body like shoulders, back, hips, and the buttocks region.
With this huge gain in popularity comes a fair amount of misconception – this article will aim to clarify how to build a foam roller routine to suit your needs. Just rolling over your entire body can provide some benefits, but constructing a targeted routine will benefit you much more in a shorter amount of time.

SPORT DADDY NEWS GYM STYLE

Knobby foam rolling

Benefits of foam rolling

So what exactly do we do with this tube shaped device? The main reason one would foam roll is to break down those tender spots called knots or trigger points. These nuisances develop when the tissue surrounding the muscles called fascia bunches up. These knots can cause tightness, pain, and reduce flexibility and range of motion. Other reasons to foam roll include:
  • Increasing your flexibility
  • Lengthen and strengthen shortened muscles
  • Increase your mobility for specific movements like the squat or overhead press
  • Warm up before your workout routine
  • Cool down after your routine and improve recovery times
  • Reduce tension and pain in your muscles and body

Build your routine

You want to start out by identifying some of your problem areas and see where your body needs the most focus when you roll. Try some mobility screening tests to identify these problem areas, or if you want to improve specific movements like the squat then you can build your routine around that. Let’s go over some of the common issues you might have and how to roll to improve them:

  • Poor ankle and hip mobility: A great place to start is screening for hip mobility.  It’s all in the hips!  If you fail this test, I’d advocate foam rolling for your glutes, hip flexors, and a routine of hip stretching including lunges.
  • Squat mobility issues:  Another excellent screening test is simply holding yourself in a squat position.  If your heels come off the ground or if your back is rounded, I would recommend foam rolling the hips, calves, and working on ankle mobility. You’ll also want to do some core strengthening.
  • Sciatica: Sciatica is caused by pressure on the sciatic nerve that can sometimes be managed by foam rolling the hip flexors and the piriformis. Try foam rolling the hip flexors, and the piriformis if you suffer from lower back and buttocks pain.
  • Poor shoulder mobility: One of my favorite ways to work out those shoulder knots is to put a lacrosse ball or tennis ball in a sock, then sling it over your shoulder and lean against a wall. This allows you to control the height of the ball and the pressure you place on the knots by pressing more or less aggressively against the wall. You can also roll with the ball under your shoulders flat on the ground, or use the foam roller to cover a wider area.
foam rolling hips

Foam rolling frequency and how to roll properly

Next we’re going to go over how to use your foam roller, and how often you should use it:
  • Start rolling slowly over the target muscle and stop when you reach a knot or trigger point (it will feel sensitive and a bit tender) for around 30 seconds or until the discomfort starts to dissipate. Keep rolling over the entire muscle until you’ve applied pressure to all of the knots and the pain has started to dissipate some more. When first starting out you may need to put pressure on the points for several 30 second bouts.
  • DON’T roll your lower back, and be careful not to roll over any bones in your body
  • On frequency: I will roll as much as once an hour, but it is more realistically a few times a day. Roll as often as you feel comfortable, and be sure to roll before and after workouts to warm up and recover properly.
  • Pick a good foam roller for your needs. You don’t need to spend a lot of money to get started, there are a lot of great budget options. You could even take a simple piece of PVC and roll on that to get started. I’ve written a pretty extensive review on all of the best foam rollers out there if you need some guidance.

Real claim 11th European crown yeh>>>

SPORT DADDY NEWS SPORT

Real Madrid are champions of Europe for the 11th time after defeating Atlético Madrid 5-3 in penalties following a 1-1 draw at the San Siro in Milan.

Cristiano Ronaldo converted the decisive penalty by powering in Real's fifth spot kick after Juanfran had missed Atlético's fourth, giving Real a second Champions League victory in three years, with both triumphs coming against their city rivals.

Sergio Ramos gave Real a lead in the 15th minute, but substitute Yannick Carrasco equalized in the 79th minute, which would eventually lead to spot kicks.

It was an exhausting final as both teams had to withstand cramps all throughout the extra time. Ronaldo's winning penalty made up for what was otherwise a subpar night for the Portuguese, as it was Gareth Bale who provided the attacking impetus on the night for the champions.

As for Atlético, it is yet another near-miss in their quest for continental glory, as Juanfran was cruelly denied by the post. Earlier in normal time, Antoine Griezmann had also struck the crossbar on a penalty, adding to Atlético's post-match misery.

There were few surprises from the managers with their respective starting XIs. Real's Zindine Zidane went with his first-choice lineup, while Atlético boss Diego Simeone's choice of Stefan Savic ahead of José María Giménez at centre-back was the most news worthy decision pre-match.

A piercing early run from Bale earned Real the game's first chance, and the resulting free kick from the Welshman was curled in perfectly for Casemiro to volley in from just three yards out, but Atlético goalkeeper Jan Oblak reacted impeccably, making a reaction save with his left foot to prevent the goal.

The set piece continued to be problematic for the Atlético defence, and at the quarter hour mark it resulted in the opener for Real. A Toni Kroos free kick was flicked on expertly by Bale and Ramos fought through the Atlético defence to get just the slightest of touches on the ball to nick it past Oblak to give Real the 1-0 advantage.

Real continued to dominate as the first half wore on, as Los Blancos seemingly won every ball and looked a well-oiled machine, while Atletico were left scrambling. Danger men Fernando Torres, Griezmann and Saúl were all non-factors, hardly troubling Real goalkeeper Keylor Navas.

Toward the end of the half Atlético started to gain a foothold in the match, and played with far more confidence and composure than earlier. With Koke playing more inside, Los Colchoneros regained some control of the midfield, yet only a pair of tame shots from distance from Griezmann gave Navas anything to do.

The improvement from Atlético meant that Ronaldo and Karim Benzema were barely involved, with the Portuguese in particular looking frustrated.

Nevertheless, Real took the lead into the second half, which saw Simeone made an offensive substitution as Carrasco replaced Augusto.

Atlético were far more aggressive to start the second stanza and immediately won a penalty when Pepe crashed into Torres in the area. Griezmann stepped up to take the spot kick, but for the second time this season the Frenchman failed to convert a penalty against Navas. Back in their league encounter last fall, Navas saved, but in this instance it was Griezmann rifling his effort off the crossbar.

Zidane was forced into making his first change of the match early in the second half as Dani Carvajal limped off and was replaced by the much-maligned Danilo.

Meanwhile, Atlético continued their surge and a bouncing ball inside the six-yard box nearly saw Savic become the hero, but he toed his shot just wide. Next it was Saúl sending a gasp through the San Siro with a well-struck left-footed volley that went wide.

Atlético continued to push numbers forward, opening up space in the back. The counterattack beckoned for Real and one such chance fell to Benzema, but his struck his shot right at Oblak. Zidane's second change saw Kroos make way for Isco to provide fresh legs in midfield.

The minutes continued to tick away on Atlético, who time and again were turned away by the Real defence. Zidane then made his final change bringing on speedy winger Lucas Vázquez in place of Benzema. Ronaldo was then presented with a chance to seal the title, but like Benzema, he shot right at

Oblak as well. That was then followed by a frantic sequence in which Oblak came way off his line to try to deny Bale, who shot past the Slovenian but saw his shot cleared off the line.

Real would end up ruing their poor finishing, as just 11 minutes from time Juanfran's cross from the right connected with substitute Carrasco, who beat Danilo at the far post and hammered in to bring Los Rojiblancos level 1-1.

A late winner was not to be had, so just like the 2014 Champions League final between these two teams, extra time was on the menu. Real's best chances continued coming via set pieces and Ronaldo should have done better on a corner kick in the early stages of extra time.

Finally, in the second period of extra-time, Simeone made just his second substitution, as Lucas Hernández replaced a hobbled Filipe Luís. Cramps seemingly overtook all the players on the pitch, and it resulted in the third and final Atlético change as Thomas Partey came on for Koke. Real had the bulk of the chances in the final 15 minutes, with Vázquez getting a look, but his shot was blocked, paving the way for penalties.

From the spot, both teams were perfect through three rounds, but it was on the fourth attempt where Juanfran struck the post, opening the door for

Ronaldo's winning conversion giving Real the crown.
